Saturday 5th of April,
As the headline says, something new, decided on this house to use a new system of foundation, instead of making an wooden formwork, bought instead concrete moulds, they are 60 x 60 c, 20cm deep, just butt joint them together in the required shape and Bobs your uncle, wooden form would take about 3 days to do on this size house, plus add another day for taking it apart, 4 days work in all, this form we laid out in 5 hours, I think we made a real saving in this system, timewise as well as financial, saved also in the amount of concrete we have to buy, to the tune of 4 cubic metres.

FORMWORK BLOCK IN PLACE
FORMWORK BLOCKS LINED UP LIKE SOLDIERS, READY TO DROP INTO PLACE.

HOUSE LAYOUT
It took about 4 hours to lay out the house, as opposed to 3 days using traditional wooden board method.

AND ONE HOUR FOR THE GARAGE.
All that remains to be done now is the steel reinforcing in the mould, thats a job for another day, followed by an inspection by the towns engineer.

If I ever built again I wouldn't even think anything else than those bricks. Unless I had several thousands of forrest where I could get the wood for "free"...
